“The Pendulum Swing”
Modern society has always have this aspect of balance in its daily web of existence, but the piece of the fabric that particularly looms out of the system is the swing between chaos and peace. A factor that affects this shaky balance has always been the tolerance of people to other people, and sometimes it only needs a small spark to start a chain reaction that will escalate towards greater tension – a phenomenon that has been a constant in the history of man. It is like we need the repetition of this symptom of something that we humans are all too familiar with.
There have been a lot of attempts to rationalize why mankind goes to war, rationalizations based on evolution, history, psychology, sociology, economics and politics.
This artwork is an attempt to portray that incessant resurfacing of this human trait, the act of balancing chaos and peace.
*My second go at working on a 6x6 feet piece. got the canvas from NY, which is great since you can stretch a 6x6 easy, we don't have any local supply that can do that. worked on it roughly 3 months.
